Felons Caught at Gun Range in Live Facebook Video

An investigator from the Evanston Police Department noticed the alleged gang members were live streaming the trip.

EVANSTON, IL - Two felons and documented gang members were busted while live streaming their trip to a gun range last week after an investigator from the Evanston Police Department noticed the live video on Facebook was being broadcasted by an alleged gang member with ties to the Evanston area.

The man with ties to Evanston was seen firing guns from a range in Winthrop Harbor, according to the Evanston Review.

Police there were able to catch two people before the trip was over, taking into custody Demarcus Curtis of Des Plaines and Nicholas Mayfield of Country Club Hills, who were both charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.

According to the Review, it’s the first time investigators made arrests stemming from an investigation that centered on a Facebook Live video.
