The last indoor Farmers Market of the year will be this Saturday, April 26 from 9 am till 1 pm at the Ecology Center, 2024 McCormick Blvd. It's been a good year for the Indoor and shoppers have welcomed the prepared food suppliers as well as the services such as knife and tool sharpening.
Pictured is chef Alberto who makes fantastic veggie burgers on the spot with a frying pan and also has sample burgers for tasting (and frozen ones for sale). These burgers are from Organiceatingwell.com in Hillside, Illinois, and they are scrumptious. http://shop.organiceatingwell.com/main.sc Some of the ingredients: organic quinoa, organic amaranth, organic millet, roasted artichoke hearts, non-GMO soy milk and many others. Place the frozen patty in a frying pan with olive oil and cook for 8 minutes on either side on low heat. You think some veggie burgers are tasteless? Try these!
The outdoor Evanston Farmers Market will begin Saturday May 10 and runs from 7:30 am until 1 pm. It will be at its usual spot, University Pl. and Oak Ave in downtown Evanston.
