Five Evanston Facebook Pages You Should 'Like' Right Now
These pages will keep you in the know as often as they possibly can.

There are numerous Facebook pages that have been up for years keeping Evanston residents informed on what’s going on in the city. Some are straight-forward, others are more fun and some are purposely nutty. We like them all. Here are five of our favorites.
Central Street, Evanston - A robust promotion of small, local businesses is the game for the page associated with one of the city’s busiest streets. If you are looking for a deal, or just general information about the area, Central Street, Evanston likely has it. The volume of information and passion they show for their local shops is something I’ve never seen before. And we appreciate their take on several Patch stories as well.
City of Evanston Illinois Government - They keep you up to date on all you need to know in town. When your registration is due, what days the streets will be cleaned and who to call about certain projects. They can have some fun as well, with local trivia and business shout outs.

Evanston Streets Alive - Evanston is not the place to live if you like traveling by car all the time. So this page, and their associated website, is all about walking, biking and keeping the local streets alive without all those carbon emissions. The page is always responsive to suggestions and informative on news in the world of active transportation.
Downtown Evanston - Handled by an obvious Facebook pro, the page already has more than 6,000 likes and provides information through shared links, videos, informative graphics and hashtags. Lots of hashtags. And it’s all local.
