Flat Cats at Dancing Club of Evanston's Holiday Ball

Popular Chicago swing band helping Evanston institution celebrate their 100th year in style at the Hotel Orrington Friday, December 12th.

Popular Chicago area swing band the Flat Cats will be in Evanston Friday, December 12th to perform at the Dancing Club of Evanston’s Holiday Ball.

The group is known to Evanston residents from their performances at the Fountain Square Art Fair, as well as the “It’s Thursday, Let’s Dance!” events each summer. They also performed at the Dancing Club of Evanston’s Holiday Ball last December. They are popular throughout he Chicago area, most notably through their regular engagements at Alahambra Palace and the Palm Court in the Drake Hotel.

The Ball (which is black-tie optional) will be at the Hotel Orrington, 1710 Orrington Avenue in Downtown Evanston. The festivities begin with a 7:00 cocktail hour, followed by dinner and dancing at 8:00, which will continue until 10:45. Tickets are $85 per person, which includes dinner. Valet parking is available for $5 with a validation ticket, which is provided.

Established in 1915, the Dancing Club of Evanston has been enjoyed not only by Evanston residents, but by couples who enjoy dinner, dancing and good company. So what better way to spend a Friday night than to have a nice dinner and dance to one of the most popular bands in the Chicago area, while taking part in one of Evanston’s oldest and grandest traditions?
