Evanston Furious Spoon Opens
The Chicago Japanese ramen chain is opening its first suburban location on Maple Street.

EVANSTON, IL — There will be free ramen in Evanston Thursday, as the local chain Furious Spoon offers free bowls of ramen to the first 100 customers when it opens its doors at 5 p.m. The new location at 1700 Maple St. is chef Shin Thompson's fifth location and first outside Chicago city limits.
The 2,000 square-foot restaurant includes an interior dining area that seats 50 and a 40-seat patio, plus it has a full liquor license.

Furious Spoon first opened in 2016 in Wicker Park. It currently has locations in Pilson, Logan Square and Revival Food Hall in The Loop, with plans to expand to Boystown and a future Lakeview food hall, Eater Chicago reports.
