Grand Opening For Valli Produce is Wednesday

The long-awaited Valli Produce in Evanston will open for the first time this week.

A special grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the new grocer will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22 at its 1919 Dempster St. location in Evanston Plaza.

City staff, Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl, Second Ward Alderman Peter Briathwaite and a representative from the Evanston Chamber of Commerce will meet with Valli Produce President Carmine Presta to celebrate the opening.

“I look forward to seeing you there as we welcome this new business to the community,” Braithwaite told his constituents in an e-mail newsletter Monday.
