Evanston’s Bagel Art has begun selling fresh vegetables, grown on the owner’s farm.
Owner of Bagel Art Nancy Depondt, who purchased the shop in 2004, grows several vegetables on her farm in Michigan, which she and her husband bought in 2010. The vegetables are used on sandwiches and soups, which are made from scratch in the shop.

“I love being able to offer the farm to table experience directly from my own farm,” Depondt said. “I still fill in with the farmer’s market produce on occasion! Along with the tomatoes I am also bringing in arugula, cucumbers, chard (for our soups) and lettuce, though that is almost finished for this season.”
Bagel Art gives a 10-percent discount to employees of nearby local businesses as well as Wildcard holders of Northwestern.
