‘Heil Hitler’ Uttered by Man Near Northwestern’s Jewish Life Center
A Jewish lecturer was greeted with the Nazi salute while walking on campus last month.

EVANSTON, IL - An incident of anti-Semitism was reported outside of Northwestern University’s Jewish life center building last month.
A Jewish Studies lecturer at Northwestern has said that while he was walking near the Fiedler Hillel on Nov. 23 a man in a passing vehicle stopped to ask him if he was Jewish and when the lecturer confirmed the man raised his right arm in a Nazi salute gesture and said “Heil Hitler,” according to a report in the Daily Northwestern.
The man who allegedly yelled the slur was in the passenger’s seat of a black SUV. The lecturer says he first asked where the Hillel building was, then if the lecturer was Jewish before raising his arm and uttering the phrase.
