Holiday Guide: Dining Out on Thanksgiving

Not all North Shore restaurants are closed for Thanksgiving. Here are a few that will be open.

For families who want to avoid the hours of cooking, clean-up and stressing about recipes, there are some area restaurants offering Thanksgiving dinners cooked by expert chefs.

Those hoping to dine out on Thanksgiving should call and reserve a spot soon.

Prairie Grass Cafe, 601 Skokie Boulevard in Northbrook - A special menu for Thanksgiving will be $55 per person. Open from 2:30-7 p.m. Currently taking names for their wait list.

Bobby’s Deerfield, 695 Deerfield Road in Deerfield - The restaurant will be open from 1-9 p.m. with a regular menu. They will also offer a Thanksgiving dinner.

Wildfish Contemporary Sushi, 730 Waukegan Road in Deerfield - The restaurant will be open with a regular menu from 4:30-9 p.m.

Di Pescara, 2124 Northbrook Court in Northbrook - Open from noon to 7 p.m. with a Thanksgiving menu. $39.95 in house or $35.95 carry out. Complete menu includes entrees, desserts and all traditional Thanksgiving food.

Chef’s Station, 918 Davis Street in Evanston - Open from 1-8 p.m. with a three course menu. $45 per person includes choice of first course, main course and dessert.

Hecky’s Barbecue, 1902 Green Bay Road in Evanston - Will be open for one hour, from 11 a.m. to noon, on Thanksgiving.

Restaurant Michael, 64 Green Bay Road in Winnetka - Open at noon, will take final reservation at 5:30 p.m. Dinner is $52 per person, children 10 and under are half price.

Johnny’s Kitchen and Tap, 1740 Milwaukee Avenue in Glenview - Open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Regular menu in addition to a turkey special with soup and dessert for $18.95.
