H and R Block: Free Tax Advice for Evanston Community

H and R Block tax professional to present Tax Talk on Jan. 6th

H&R Block, the nation’s largest consumer tax service provider, has tax professionals in every community with the expertise, support and flexibility to assist the community with their tax questions. Milka Cucuz, an H&R Block tax professional, will present a free Tax Talk about the impact of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) at the Evanston Public Library located at 1703 Orrington Avenue in the Community Meeting Room on Tuesday, January 6th starting at 7pm.

“National estimates show 30 million Americans were uninsured for all or part of the year, opening up the possibility they may have to pay a tax penalty if they don’t qualify for an exemption. Another 7 million Americans received health insurance through the Marketplace and will have to reconcile their Advance Premium Tax Credit when they file their tax return,” said Cucuz. “Overall, the complexity is going to increase for a group of people, both those who signed up for insurance through the marketplace and those who did not.”

H&R Block’s Tax Talks provide the community with free expert tax advice from the industry’s best tax professional about tax preparation, personal finance topics, understanding health care reform and more. This Tax Talk will educate clients on their responsibility to obtain insurance, availability of assistance with health care costs, availability of exemptions, tax return requirements and planning for 2015.
