Jose Angel N., an undocumented immigrant who lives in Chicago, reads from his memoir. Praised for describing “the netherworld of the undocumented... with great eloquence and pathos,” N.’s book recounts his years-long journey from harrowing border crossing to proud husband, father, homeowner, and college graduate. With bravery and honesty, he details the constraints and humiliations of life “amid the shadows” while debunking many stereotypes associated with undocumented immigrants. Copies of Illegal will be available to purchase.
