John Forehand Appointed President of Orren Pickell Design Group

NORTHFIELD, Ill. (November 16, 2015) – Orren Pickell Building Group is pleased to announce that John Forehand has joined the Northfield-based design/build firm. John will serve as President of the Orren Pickell Design Group, playing a leading role in strategizing, designing and building the dream custom homes for which the firm is known.

Forehand’s experience includes a successful position as Project Manager and Managing Partner for Darcy Bonner and Associates, where he focused on residential architecture and interior design since 2000. In addition to running the business side of the company, including the handling of all contracts, billing and employee issues, he completed numerous single family home projects under the name John Forehand, Architect in the Oak Park, River Forest and Hinsdale neighborhoods of suburban Chicago. Before the early 2000’s, Forehand spent five years as Vice President at Booth Hansen Architects, during which he specialized in single family homes and multi-family residential projects around the greater Chicagoland area.

Throughout his tenure, Forehand has had significant roles on many notable projects including the Old Saint Patrick’s Cathedral renovation which won an American Institute of Architects (AIA) National Honor Award for Interior Architecture. He is also a member of AIA and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). Forehand resides in River Forest, Illinois with his wife and 16 year old twin boys. While not at work he enjoys traveling and hiking across the globe with his family, as well as volunteering for the Thrive Counseling Center in Oak Park.
