Judge Jerry Esrig Receives Unanimous Endorsement from Democratic 9th Subcircuit Committee
Judge Jerry Esrig received a rare unanimous endorsement from the nine members of the Democratic 9th Subcircuit Committee.

For the first time in many years, the Democratic Committee of the 9th Subcircuit has come together to unanimously endorse a candidate, throwing their support behind Judge Jerry Esrig in Cook County’s 9th Judicial Subcircuit race.
Evanston Township Democratic Committeeman Eamon Kelly stated, “Judge Esrig is a great judge. He’s smart, hardworking and fair. We are lucky to have him on the bench, and endorsing him was an easy choice for the Democratic Party.”
City of Chicago 49th Ward Alderman Joe Moore agreed, saying, “I’m proud to endorse Judge Esrig because of his strong record of community involvement, his outstanding legal and judicial career, and the unanimously positive evaluations he has received from the bar associations. I will be working hard to support him in the Democratic primary.”
The Democratic Committee of the 9th Subcircuit consists of nine men and women from four townships and five wards, including:

• Niles Township – Lou Lang
• Northfield Township – Mike Kreloff
• 40th Ward – Pat O’Connor
• 41st Ward – Mary O’Connor
• 48th Ward – Carol Ronen
• 49th Ward – Joe Moore
• 50th Ward – Ira Silverstein
Judge Jerry Esrig was appointed as a Circuit Court Judge by the Illinois Supreme Court on October 4, 2013 and was reappointed to a term which began on January 30, 2015. Prior to his appointment to the bench, Esrig worked as a trial lawyer in Chicago for over 30 years,
representing small and medium-sized businesses in commercial disputes and profoundly injured individuals. In 1984, he co-founded the firm of Zaideman & Esrig, P.C. which became Epstein, Zaideman & Esrig in 1985. The firm once again became known as Zaideman & Esrig, P.C. in 1999 when partner Jim Epstein was appointed and then elected to the bench.
Judge Esrig earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Northwestern University and a law degree from the University of Chicago School of Law. He was an adjunct faculty member at Northwestern University Law School and also taught for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. Judge Esrig and his wife Deborah Thorne live in Evanston where they raised their two adult children, Daniel and Rachel.
