Julia Louis-Dreyfus Snaps Photo With 'Game of Thrones' Founder at Northwestern Game

Seinfeld's "Queen of the Castle" visits Evanston to watch Northwestern's game with George R.R. Martin, founder of 'Game of Thrones.'


The Northwestern University athletic department did a fine job in creating a weeklong buzz surrounding the return of “Game of Thrones” author George R.R. Martin to his alma mater for a Hall of Achievement ceremony and honor during Saturday’s football game against Penn State.

But nobody told us Elaine, sorry... Julia Louis-Dreyfus was going to be there.

For some of us who have seen every episode of “Seinfeld” at least five times, that is a pretty big deal.

The current star of the television series “Veep” who will forever be known to many around the world as Elaine Benes from her co-starring role on the hit 1990s NBC comedy was in the press box at Ryan Field alongside Martin, who was being honored during the game. Louis-Dreyfus put the photo - and others from her weekend experience at the Evanston school - on Twitter and Instagram.

Louis-Dreyfus attended the school during the 1980s and her son, Charlie Hall, is currently a freshman on the Wildcats’ basketball team.

Martin graduated from Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism in the 1970s and was honored for his career earlier in the week before the game.

No word on where in town she may have stopped after the game for a “Big Salad,” or if she crashed a college party to show off her dance moves.
