
Jordan Harvey and Jaden Jean-Paul combined for five individual victories and sparked Evanston’s track team to a repeat title at the Dan Phillips Relays held Saturday at Willie May Fieldhouse.
The Wildkits piled up 204.5 points and dominated the 7-team field by claiming 11 first place finishes overall. Runner-up Loyola Academy scored 94 points, followed in order by Willowbrook (87), New Trier (72), Brother Rice (48.5), St. Ignatius (16) and Leo (10).
Harvey paced 1-2 finishes by ETHS in both the 50-meter low hurdles and 55-meter high hurdles. In the lows, the senior raced to a winning time of 7.80 to teammate Nelson Mbangamoh’s 8.20.He edged out Lucas Anderson in the highs by a margin of 8.40 to 8.60.

Jean-Paul, a junior, turned in three gold medal performances in the field events. He ruled the high jump at 1.95 meters, then swept top honors in the long jump (6.76) and triple jump (13.36) in his first test of the indoor season.
Also scoring individual wins for the Wildkits were Emmanuel Roche in the 55 dash (6.81), Justin Johnson in the 200 (24.70), Deshawn Preister in the 400 (52.90), and sophomore Andrew Praeuner in the 3200 (10:10.80).

Evanston also dominated in relay wins in the 800 and 1600. The 800 team of Johnson, Roache, Harvey and Sean Hopson was clocked in 1:38.00, five second quicker than runnerup New Trier, while the 1600 foursome of Preister, Harvey, Ezat Ahmad and Ari Coustan ran away with that race in 3:37.50.
Contributing second place finishes for the meet champs were Anderson, 12.97 in the triple jump and 1.85 in the high jump; Roache, 24.90 in the 200; Johnson, 6.85 in the 55; Chance Simmons, 6.51 in the long jump; and Xayvion Featherson, 54.80 in the 400.
The Wildkits will host the Central Suburban League South division championship meet on Friday.
