PEER Services is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. PEER Services provides community-based substance use prevention and treatment services to teens, adults and families in Northern Cook County, including Evanston, Maine, New Trier, Niles and Northfield Townships, and the north side of Chicago. PEER Services reduces the harms of substance use, addiction and stigma by engaging youth and adults with innovative prevention programming and by supporting people on their path to recovery through holistic, evidence-based treatment. We provide affirming services to all in need, regardless of their ability to pay. Our Programs: Adult Treatment: •	Individual &amp; Group Counseling •	Intensive Outpatient Program •	Medication-Assisted Recovery for Heroin, Opioid Use or Alcohol Use Disorders •	Case Management •	DUI Risk Education &amp; Aftercare •	Alcohol and Other Drug Evaluations •	Recovery Support Specialists •	Recovery Oriented Systems of Care Coalition •	Substance Use Crisis Support at The Living Room (Evanston) •	Partnerships with the United States Probation Office and the Cook County Skokie Court House through our Second Chances Program Adolescent Treatment: •	Early intervention education •	Individual counseling •	Family Support Prevention Services: PEER Services prevention department partners with schools, local non-profit organizations, businesses, local coalitions, and others to help support the community to act as a united front in substance use prevention (SUP) and mental health support. We provide presentations, trainings, and resources for youth, parents, community members, local organizations, and other community entities on topics such as Alcohol, Cannabis, Current substance trends, Fentanyl, Life Skills Training, Decision Making, Peer Pressure, Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), Opioid Overdose, Prescription Medications, Tobacco, and Vaping

EVANSTON, IL - Three Evanston Township High School athletes were honored by the Kiwanis Club of Evanston recently with the Ted Van Zelst Award, a recognition named after a prominent engineer who founded the Evanston-based Soil Test company. The Kiwanis Club presented the awards to baseball and basketball player Charlie Maxwell, girls soccer player Kira Faveken and Evan Lindley from the boys volleyball team.The trip received a certificate of recognition, a book on leadership and a $25 gift card to Barnes &amp; Noble. Maxwell will play baseball at Northwestern, where he will major in economics.Favekeh will continue her soccer career at Harvey Mudd College in California.Lindley will play volleyball at New York University and study organic chemistry there.

Founded in 1983 by Lori Lippitz, Maxwell Street Klezmer Band has played at Carnegie Hall, toured Europe, and provided the soundtrack for Chicagoland’s Jewish celebrations for over 4 decades. The band marked its 40th “Bandiversary” at The Old Town School of Folk Music in 2023. The group is releasing a new live album as well as an educational band book series in 2026.&nbsp;
