Last Chance: Sign up to be an ETHS Parent Ambassador

Volunteers for the 2012-13 school year must submit forms by April 11.

Evanston Township High School recently announced the launch of a new program, in which the school is recruiting parents, guardians and adult family members of current students as ambassadors and tasking them with the challenge of strengthening the school’s ties with current and prospective ETHS families.

But if you want to volunteer, you need to hurry -- interested adults have until April 11 to begin applying for these positions for the 2012-12 school year. The first step to becoming an ambassador is completing an online interest form.

“Parent Ambassadors will participate in on-campus events and take part in outreach initiatives for prospective ETHS families, such as welcoming new families, assisting them with questions and connecting them with school resources, including other ETHS parent groups,” according to a press release on the ETHS website.

Ambassadors will also be asked to address issues specific to some of ETHS’s diverse communities, including “multicultural, fist generation, and LGBT” populations.
