Late-Night Cookie Delivery Planned in Evanston

Insomnia Cookies, loved at college campus across the country, wants to open near Northwestern.

EVANSTON, IL - Some Evanstonians could soon have cookies delivered to their homes as late as 3 a.m.

The national Insomnia Cookies chain is planning to open a store in downtown Evanston, according to an Evanston Now report.

The business’ plan to open at 1725 Sherman Ave. is subject to a special use permit approval for the city. But it looks likely that the chain with a base in several college towns throughout the country will add the Northwestern folk to their clientele.

If their plan is approved, the Evanston location will be Insomnia’s eighth in Illinois, with the other stores already operating in Carbondale, Normal, Champaign and four in Chicago (Rogers Park, Lincoln Park, Wicker Park and Hyde Park).

Most of their stores are open from 10 a.m. until 3 a.m. on weekdays and from noon to 3 a.m. on weekends. Evanston residents will be able to check a map on their website to see if they live in the delivery range.
