Launch 2016: Driving Fashion Forward

NORTHBROOK, IL – In honor of the long standing relationship between Mercedes Benz and fashion, the Autohaus on Edens showroom will be transformed into a dynamic catwalk and fashion hub in conjunction with their yearly, can’t miss, North Shore fashion event Launch 2016: Driving Fashion Forward. This 5th annual event will be held on Sunday, April 10th and attracts philanthropists, fashion and luxury car enthusiasts. Launch 2016: Driving Fashion Forward is an exciting spring fashion preview featuring designs from some of the North Shore’s finest boutiques, a trunk show opportunity for guests to shop before and after the show and an investment in the fashion industry’s future with an emerging student design competition with Columbia College Chicago. This year the stylish “iconic” fashion event will benefit the charitable works of The Glenview Women’s Club.

Produced by ZZAZZ Productions, the runway show will feature 2016 spring fashions from returning boutiques: Juniper Boutique (Northbrook) Ella Louvi (Glenview) ENAZ (Highland Park) and Project Runways’ Peach Carr Designs. The men’s fashion segment will be exclusively provided by IKE BEHAR NYC (Oak Street & Northbrook Court) and feature the brave men of The Glenview Women’s Club. Guests can wine and dine on exquisite cocktails and hors d’oeuvres provided by Morton’s The Steakhouse, toast to a Balvenie scotch tasting, indulge in Bent Fork Cupcakes for Charity, while shopping a trunk show of the latest spring trends in ready to wear accessories and jewelry. The trunk show features French Papers, Joshe Style, Peach Carr Designs, Red Door Spa and Razny Jewelers.

New this year, the Iconic Raffle will allow three lucky guests to win a Luis Vuitton Neverfull Tote, $1,000 David Yurman Gift Certificate or Gucci sunglasses. Plus excitement will fill the air with a live auction with one lucky winner receiving a Mercedes experience trip for two courtesy of Autohaus on Edens and Mercedes-Benz USA. A silent auction fills the showroom with items donated from participating partners. The main event includes a runway fashion show with both local boutiques and designs from fashion students at Columbia College. Also new this year, a special runway performance by local singing sensation Antonio Duca, who just made a national impact on the Fox hit musical drama, Empire.

As the tradition continues, the Autohaus on Edens partners with the Columbia College Chicago Fashion Department will host a competition between senior fashion design students. Student designers will be showcasing looks from their collections to be walked down the runway in front of a panel of esteemed judges. The lucky winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship to use towards school or launching their own collection, courtesy of Northbrook Toyota and Toyota Corporation.

We continue to grow this event every year and help new Columbia College fashion students with the opportunity to win the $5,000 prize as well as bringing small Northshore boutiques together to showcase the amazing fashion in the area while raising tens of thousands of dollars for The Glenview Women’s Club who support 17 not-for -profits in the area.
