Local Police to 'Walk a Mile in Her Shoes'
Evanston police officers will support increased awareness of sexual abuse and sexual assault at Centennial Park event.

Members of the Evanston Police Department, including Police Chief Richard Eddington, will walk in women’s heels on Sunday to bring attention and awareness to sexual assault and sexual abuse.
The department will participate in Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, an event hosted by the Northwest Center Against Sexual Assault. Eddington will be on hand at the Centennial Park event to discuss the importance of increased awareness for the cause.
“Although a fun and empowering event the real focus is the many survivors of sexual assault and sexual abuse,” according to an Evanston police news release.
