PEER Services provides community-based substance use prevention and treatment services to teens, adults and families in Northern Cook County, including Evanston, Maine, New Trier, Niles and Northfield Townships, and the north side of Chicago. PEER Services reduces the harms of substance use, addiction and stigma by engaging youth and adults with innovative prevention programming and by supporting people on their path to recovery through holistic, evidence-based treatment. A man has been arrested in connection with the attempted robbery of the CVS Pharmacy in Wilmette last week. Menary was taken into custody around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning in the 100 block of 3rd Street in Wilmette. He faces a charge of attempted aggravated robbery. Police say a lone offender approached the pharmacy desk at the CVS at 1515 Sheridan Rd. around 3:30 p.m. on April 20 and presented a note demanding prescription pain killers and implied possession of a firearm. The pharmacist called the police and the offender fled the area without gaining any medications.

Founded in 1983 by Lori Lippitz, Maxwell Street Klezmer Band has played at Carnegie Hall, toured Europe, and provided the soundtrack for Chicagoland’s Jewish celebrations for over 4 decades. The band marked its 40th “Bandiversary” at The Old Town School of Folk Music in 2023. The group is releasing a new live album as well as an educational band book series in 2026.&nbsp;
