Man Bashes Wife With Frying Pan Without Warning: Police
The 68-year-old allegedly knocked out one of her teeth and tried to put a bag over her head.

EVANSTON, IL — An Evanston man suddenly attacked his wife with a frying pan, bashing out one of her teeth before trying to choke her, according to police reports. Police were called to the 800 block of Elgin Road shortly before 9 a.m. on Jan. 3 for a report of a woman with a head injury. They found a 66-year-old Evanston woman with cuts to her head and missing a tooth.
She told police she was reading her iPad in the kitchen when her husband – without any prior argument or warning – suddenly hit her over the head with a frying pan several times.
He also tried to put a bag over her head and choke her with his hands, police were told.

She was able to call for assistance after getting away from him and was eventually taken to the hospital. Fire department personnel called police after they determined her injury was due to someone she lived with.
Arni Miller, 68, of the 800 block of Elgin Road, was arrested on Jan. 4 and charged with two counts of aggravated domestic battery for allegedly strangling her and two counts of aggravated battery – one for attacking someone older than 60 and one for using a weapon.

He is being held without bond at Cook County Jail ahead of a Jan. 24 court date, according to the sheriff's office.
