Massage Businesses in Evanston Will Need Licenses

Ordinance will require identification from salon owners and prohibit nudity.

EVANSTON, IL - An ordinance that would require any massage establishment opening in Evanston to acquire city licensing is moving forward.

The ordinance, which was recommended for implementation by the city’s Administration and Public Works Committee Monday night, will require owners of massage businesses to pay a $50 licensing fee and provide identification and state licenses for any therapist working there, according to Evanston Now.

Anyone with convictions of any type of sexual misconduct or who had a massage permit revoked, denied or suspended within the last ten years will be barred from receiving the license in Evanston.
