Meet Fabio Cavalieri, Evanston Patch's New Advertising Manager
A native of Italy, he's now settling into the North Shore.
From the get-go, Fabio Cavalieri is clear about a few things.
"I don't have long, blond hair, and I don't sell butter," said the Italian native, who grew up in Turin, Italy. "But I do sell advertising."
In January, the newly minted Patch advertising manager started selling Patch advertisements and producing marketing events along the North Shore, in Evanston, Winnetka, Glencoe, Northfield, Wilmette and Kenilworth.

While Fabio, 30, is quick to joke, the avid soccer player said he takes his job seriously.
"I like showcasing new things to people, especially when it can help them in some way," he said. "That goes for all the products I've sold in the past."

For four years, Fabio sold advertisements for "The Chicago Tribune." He then moved on to heart prostheses for people with heart defects under Cardia Inc., a Minnesota-based company that sells products around the world. Then Fabio moved on to dentistry equipment, selling everything from sterilizers to drill units.
Today, Fabio said he believes in the Patch brand because it provides information that improves people's lives.
"I like being the good news messenger," he said with a chuckle. Fabio said he enjoys the day-to-day activities of meeting with local business owners and hearing about their interests.
When he's not on the job, you might catch Fabio revving his motorcycle or driving his race kart.
You can take the Italian, out of Italy. But you can't take the Italy out of Fabio.
