Megon McDonough to record live album at Davenport's Sept. 13
Evanston singer-songwriter to record a live album of her show, "Megon McDonough: A Girl and Her Guitar," at Davenport's Piano Bar Sept. 13.
Evanston singer-songwriter Megon McDonough has spent more than four decades performing all over the United States, and now, Megon is pleased to present a new show that takes audiences on a journey of her impressive musical career. See “Megon McDonough: A Girl and Her Guitar” on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. at Davenport’s Piano Bar, 1383 N. Milwaukee, Chicago, IL. Tickets are $18 in advance and $20 at the door, with a two-drink minimum.
In this extraordinary and intimate evening, Megon starts with her early influences – The Beatles, Carole King, and Joni Mitchell – followed by some of her own folk songs, ranging from the hilarious (such as the ones she recorded with the group The Four Bitchin’ Babes) to the heartfelt, like “Amazing Things.” In this personal show, see how music has the power to connect us all.
Plus, this show will be recorded as a live concert album, so audience members who come will have a chance to be part of history!

A resident of Evanston, Megon has been performing professionally since the age of 14. Megon grew up in Crystal Lake, IL, and by the age of 17, she was opening for such folk acts as John Denver, Steve Martin and Harry Chapin. She has performed on stages as diverse as Carnegie Hall and the Cellar Door. Megon has 15 solo albums to her credit.
