EVANSTON, IL - The city has announced operational changes in relation to Memorial Day Weekend.

Refuse Collection
No collections will occur on Monday, May 30. All trash, yard waste and recycling collections will occur one day later in the week.Thursday residential recycling and Friday condo recycling collections will both occur on Friday, June 3.

Facility Closures
- The Lorraine H. Morton Civic Center will be closed May 28-30.
- All branches of the Evanston Public Library will be closed May 29 and 30.
- The Chandler-Newberger Center, Gibbs-Morrison Cultural Center, and Evanston Ecology Center will be closed May 28-30. The Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, Levy Senior Center, Noyes Cultural Arts Center and Robert Crown Center will be closed May 30.

The 311 Service Center will be closed on Sunday, May 29, according to its regular schedule, and will be closed on May 30 for Memorial Day.
Beaches
All Evanston swimming beaches will be open for the season beginning Saturday, May 28, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Beaches will be open on Memorial Day.
Parking
Parking meters and downtown parking garages will be free on Memorial Day. In addition, other restricted areas that have signs that prohibit parking except on holidays will be honored on Memorial Day.
