Mosquito Spraying Coming To Evanston, Skokie

The North Shore Mosquito Abatement District is planning spraying operations for Tuesday and Wednesday.

NORTHFIELD, IL — The North Shore Mosquito Abatement district announced it plans to conduct targeted adult mosquito control operations Tuesday and Wednesday in Evanston, Skokie, Lincolnwood, Kenilworht, Wilmette and Winnetka. Weather permitting, the operations are set to take place between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. The district's mosquito control operations include truck mounted spraying of insecticide and the application of insecticide to vegetation in high-traffic areas for temporary protection.

So far every one of the 12 northern Cook County towns covered by the district has provided samples of mosquitoes that have tested positive for West Nile Virus.
