Mosquitoes in Evanston Have West Nile Virus
A batch tested by the North Shore Mosquito Abatement District tested positive this week.

EVANSTON, IL - A batch of mosquitoes found in Evanston has tested positive for the West Nile virus.
A batch collected by the North Shore Mosquito Abatement District on Tuesday, June 22 became the first to test positive this year in Evanston. Batches of mosquitoes have also tested positive for the virus in Glenview, Kenilworth and Skokie.
The NSMAD recommends resident combat the virus by using insect repellent, wearing loose clothing and avoiding peak mosquito times, which are dawn and dusk.
