Mossad Agent Curates Nazi War Criminal Exhibit at Illinois Holocaust Museum

Exhibit on hunt for infamous Nazi Adolf Eichmann continues through June 18 at Holocaust Museum and Education Center in Skokie.

Avner Avraham, former agent with the Israeli Mossad national intelligence agency, gave visitors an expert tour of the Operation Finale: The Capture & Trial of Adolf Eichmann special exhibit at the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center on May 11. Avraham is the curator of the exhibit, running through June 18, which offers an immersive exploration of the dangerous covert mission that brought one of the most notorious Nazi war criminals to justice in 1961. May 11 was the anniversary of Eichmann's capture in Argentina, where he was living under an assumed name.

The exhibition includes a host of original artifacts, including the bulletproof glass booth that surrounded Eichmann during his trial, surrounded on three sides by projected testimonies that recreate the trial itself and make the visitor feel like a courtroom eyewitness. Visitors can also see impressive examples of espionage tools of the era, from hand-forged documents to a pair of goggles used to obscure Eichmann's vision after his capture.

Operation Finale: The Capture & Trial of Adolf Eichmann continues at the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center until June 18. The Museum is located at 9603 Woods Drive in Skokie. For more information, visit ILHolocaustMuseum.org.
