Music, Food, Discounted NU Football Tickets At Back-To-School Block Party In Evanston

EVANSTON, IL — This year's "'Kits, 'Cats and Kids" block party is set to include live music, the marching bands from Evanston Township High School and Northwestern University, games, arts and crafts, family-friendly activities filling the street, plenty of food options and rousing pep rally-style speeches. There will be a wide variety of food trucks offering savory and sweet options, and the first 200 hot dogs will be free courtesy of First Bank & Trust, according to organizers.

Evanston's 2017 Block Party is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 14 from 4:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sherman Avenue between Church and Clark streets and on Clark Street between Sherman and Benson avenues. There will be discounted football tickets to the Bowling Green versus Northwestern game on Saturday at Ryan Field. (Or use the online discount code PURPLE through Friday.)

Next week the ETHS varsity squad plays away against Fremd High School at 7:30 p.m.
