NBC Show Chicago PD Shot at Aperion Care International, Thrilling Staff

Aperion Care International's staff got a rare glimpse inside NBC's hit show Chicago PD as it shot at its skilled nursing and rehab center

Aperion Care International, a skilled nursing, rehabilitation and long-term care facility, recently had a brush with fame at the end of October. NBC’s hit show Chicago P.D., which focuses on a uniformed police patrol and the intelligence unit that pursues the perpetrators of the city’s major street offenses, filmed at its facility.

Aperion heard that the location manager for Chicago P.D. chose Aperion Care International after touring quite a few Chicago nursing facilities. The show shot footage for about five hours. Members of the cast and crew shot scenes at the first floor nurses station as well as in the therapy room, which was transformed into an activity room. The staff got a glimpse behind the scenes and enjoyed watching actors Danny Pino, who plays Detective Nick Amaro on Law & Order: SVU, and Patrick Flueger, who plays Adam Ruzek on Chicago P.D., in action.

Aperion Care International’s Director of Recreational Services Tish Wilkerson even got to be an extra on set. The episode that was shot at the facility will be part of a three part cross-over event for Chicago P.D., Chicago Fire, and Law & Order: SVU airing on NBC from November 11 -13.
