DULCE CARAMEL CO. is located in Highland Park and is run by Chef Graciela Schargorodsky, who was born and raised in Argentina. She specializes in alfajors.
FRILLMAN FARMS of Prairie View specializes in GMO-free heirloom vegetables, especially tomatoes and peppers, including the 19th century Italian tomato Costoluto Genovese.
FRIO GELATO appears every other week with their Argentinian ice cream. Their store is in good old Evanston.
BLESSED ROOTS FARM is not a farm at all but sells natural ingredient sprays and powders for cleaning just about everything. Located in Woodstock.
VERZENAY PATISSERIE sells French desserts, tarts and meringues created by Paris-trained chef Arshiya Farheen from Schaumberg.
MINT CREEK FARM has grassfed lamb and beef and pastured free-range poultry from Stelle, Illinois.
TUSCAN HEN FOODS has Italian style pasta, sauces and focaccia bread--don't expect much chicken.
It's great to have these new sellers of great local products--be sure to welcome them as you stop by their booths.
Market opens at 7 am Sat. at Oak and University Pl. Free parking in the garage if you get your ticket stamped at the city booth in the market.
