New York Times Features Evanston in Travel Section
The national news source picks the best five places to eat and drink in town.

The city of Evanston’s local restaurant scene was featured in the New York Times’ travel section on Monday, August 31.
Writer Ari Bendersky described the “urban suburb north of Chicago” as one that has “added more hustle as of late” in an article titled, ‘Where to Eat and Drink in Evanston.”

Bendersky noted Evanston “has a downtown area that is picking up steam with the recent openings of farm-to-table restaurants, world-class distilleries and breweries, galleries and hip music venues, all within a stone’s throw of restored mansions overlooking Lake Michigan.”
As part of the city’s dining scene, the article features Found Kitchen and Social House and their “ever-changing seasonal rustic American menu (that) reflects the Midwestern roots and French training of its celebrated chef, Nicole Pederson,” Few Spirits and its four-year-old craft distillery “acclaimed for its whiskey barrel-aged gin and rye whiskey,” Union Pizzeria/Space, Hewn and Smylie Bros. Brewing Company.
