No Jail Time For Evanston Woman Who Fatally Struck Skokie Man 2 Years Ago

Larissa Lomax will be on probation and take a drug test after pleading guilty to driving under the influence of drugs.

An Evanston woman who was driving under the influence of drugs when she fatally struck a Skokie man in 2013 won’t serve any time in prison for the offense.

Court records show Larissa Lomax, 34 pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of drugs when she struck and killed Alan Rubio, 57 at the intersection of Main Street and Skokie Boulevard, according to the Evanston Review. She was handed a sentence of 24 months of probation.

Lomax, who was also initially charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, was also ordered to pay $1,874 in fines and fees, in addition to having to undergo a drug test.

Reports indicate Lomax had received at least a dozen traffic tickets prior to the 2013 incident.
