North Shore Obituary: Larry Gougler, 95
Larry was Intelligence Officer in World War II and Korean War.

Larry Gougler, age 95, of Evanston and Winnetka passed away peacefully on March 4, 2015. Born in Quincy, Illinois in 1919, Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Sally.
Larry is survived by his two children, Ann ( Don ) Boyd and Fred ( Francoise ) Gougler, seven grandchildren, Kristin ( Eric ) Zeckman, Lawrence ( Cheryl ) Boyd, Kate, Sarah and Alexis Boyd, Julia ( Cory ) Eagerman and Christopher Gougler and one special great granddaughter, Betsy Zeckman.
Larry served as an Intelligence Officer in both World War II and the Korean War. He had a long career at the Northern Trust Company as Executive Vice President and Corporate Secretary. Larry was involved in many civic and charitable organizations serving as a Life Trustee of the Brookfield Zoo and as a member of the New Trier High School Board of Education.
An Eagle Scout, Larry remained active with the Chicago Area Boy Scouts for many years serving in a variety of leadership roles. He also remained a loyal supporter of his alma mater, the University of Illinois where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He loved golf and was a member of Exmoor Country Club.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 25th at the Winnetka Congregational Church, 725 Pine Street, Winnetka, IL 60093 at 2:00 p.m.
