North West Housing Partnership (NWHP) has partnered with the Cook County Department of Planning and Development within the Bureau of Economic Development to provide a one-time monetary grant program for income-qualified residential homeowners who reside in suburban Cook County who experienced flood damage in April/May 2013.

The name of the program is the Disaster Recovery Residential Resilience Program.

Qualified homeowners who own a single-family residence, as well as homes containing up to four units that incurred damages during the April/May 2013 flood, can receive the grant to assist with repairs.

Those that are approved for this program will also qualify for a program provided by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago’s Competitive Affordable Housing program, another collaborative program created by NWHP in partnership with Chicago-based UP Development. This program provides monetary assistance for repairs and upgrades relating to energy efficiency and accessibility.

“We are proud to continue to offer a wide variety of opportunities for low to moderate income homeowners to protect the investment in their homes, and help them to stay in them for years to come,” said Robyn Sandys, NWHP executive director.

NWHP will administer the Disaster Recovery Residential Resilience Program for all suburban Cook County communities west and north of 39th Street who are in need of home repairs stemming from the 2013 floods.

Qualified contractors are also being sought to provide professional services to assist with implementation of these programs.
