Northwestern Alum James Foley Executed by ISIS
The photojournalist who has been missing since 2012 was beheaded in a graphic video that appeared on YouTube on Tuesday.

U.S. officials have confirmed that American journalist James Foley was beheaded by ISIS, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Foley, who graduated from Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications at Northwestern University in 2008, was captured in Syria in 2012 and had been missing since the video of his execution was posted on YouTube on Tuesday.
Medill Dean Brad Hamm issued a statement on Wednesday about Foley’s death, which has been reprinted at the Daily Northwestern.

“Jim endures for us as a beacon reminding us of the risks implicit in shedding light where inhumanity can take hold,” Hamm said.
