Northwestern President Calls for Post-Election Unity, But Won't Mention Donald Trump
Email from Morton Schapiro acknowledges the results call for "a great cause of concern" for some.

EVANSTON, IL - Northwestern University President Morton Schapiro made a call for unity after the election of Donald Trump, but wouldn't write the president-elect's name in an email to members of the school community.
Schapiro acknowledged Trump's win "surprised almost everyone."
"For some, it may have been a pleasant surprise, but for others it undoubtedly is a cause of great concern," he wrote in the email.

"I hope all of us now can set aside whatever differences may have occurred during the campaign and continue to do what the University does best: teach, learn, discover and reflect."
He says Northwestern will remain "a welcoming and inclusive community for all."
