EVANSTON, IL — A Northwestern student is in critical condition after falling from the fourth floor of a fraternity house on Memorial Day. The incident took place around 12:45 p.m. Monday afternoon at the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity house at 2313 N. Sheridan Rd., according to police and university officials.
The 20-year-old sophomore was rushed to Evanston hospital and was being treated in an intensive care unit. Northwestern and Evanston police are investigating the reason for the fall. There were no immediate signs that foul play was involved or that there was any party going on at the house at the time, according to police.
A Northwestern spokesman said the parents of the student have joined him at the hospital, and the university has not named the student. The fraternity's chief marketing officer told WLS the Northwestern chapter is fully cooperating with the investigation and declined to comment out of respect for the student, his family and friends.
