Northwestern University Grant to Foundation 65 Benefits Evanston Students

Foundation 65 receives grant from Northwestern University in support of arts and literacy education for all District 65 students.

September 24, 2015 – Foundation 65 announced receipt of a $35,000 gift from Northwestern University to support programs and operations. This grant will allow Foundation 65 to continue to grow and invest in arts and literacy programs, impacting all students in all District 65 schools.

Northwestern University has been a dedicated community partner and lead donor to Foundation 65 for nearly a decade. In combination with the Lewis-Sebring Family Foundation and Tawani Foundation, their support has allowed Foundation 65 to grow dramatically, more than doubling programmatic dollars granted in support of arts and literacy programs, since 2009.

“This generous gift is an extraordinary example of Northwestern University’s commitment to supporting the Evanston community,” said Executive Director, Lise Jinno. “Their support will allow us to continue to invest in innovative learning opportunities for students at every school in District 65.”

“Northwestern University remains deeply committed to supporting the education and development of children. We are honored to support these efforts in District 65,” said Northwestern University Executive Vice President Nim Chinniah.

A portion of the grant will be matched through Tawani Foundation, through a matching gift challenge, giving Foundation 65 the opportunity to make an even greater impact on education in Evanston.
