Oakton School Teacher Injures Hand in Microwave Fire
A teacher took himself to the hospital Tuesday morning after putting out a small microwave fire in the school's teacher's lounge.
A Tuesday morning fire in a microwave oven in the teacher’s lounge at Oakton Elementary School in Evanston resulted in a teaching injuring his hand attempting to put it out.
The Evanston Fire Department received a call at about 8:24 a.m. but when firefighters arrived, the blaze was already put out, according to the Evanston Review.

It started as one teacher was preparing food in a microwave, fire officials said.
The teacher, who wasn’t identified, took himself across the street to Saint Francis Hospital for treatment.
