Ozinga Partnership Helps Build Northwestern Community
Local company donates $17,000 to NU Dance Marathon

(Evanston, ILL) – In its ongoing effort to partner with the Northwestern University community, Ozinga has donated $17,650 to the upcoming student-run Northwestern University Dance Marathon (NUDM).
Through its “Together, Building Better” promotion, Ozinga sponsored the “Ground Game” for Northwestern’s football team this past season. Ozinga donated $10 for every Northwestern rushing yard throughout the season, reaching a grand total of $17,650.
NUDM will take place the weekend of March 3-5 with proceeds benefitting Gigi’s Playhouse, a nonprofit organization providing free therapeutic programming and support to individuals with Down syndrome.

“Ozinga believes that our success is linked with the success of the local communities we serve,” said company President, Marty Ozinga. “This is why we are proud to support Northwestern and aid the students’ efforts to make a positive impact on their local community.”
“More than 400,000 people in the U.S. have Down syndrome, and we are beyond excited that NUDM has the opportunity to help improve the lives of these incredibly inspiring people,” said Ian Pappas, one of the NUDM 2017 Executive Co-Chairs.

Partnering with the Wildcats and NU Dance Marathon group isn’t Ozinga’s only involvement with the University. The fourth-generation company has also helped build the Northwestern community by getting involved with on-campus projects. Recently, Ozinga supplied concrete for the Kellogg School of Management building with Goebel Forming. In addition to this large-scale project, Ozinga also supplied concrete for the University’s Lincoln Residence Hall, Mudd Hall, Ryan Fieldhouse and Walter Athletics Center, Goodrich Hall, Shepard Hall and the Northwestern University AB Wing Infill.
“Northwestern University and Ozinga share a commitment to excellence in service that makes for a truly strong partnership,” said John D’Angelo, Vice President of Facilities Management. “Ozinga has demonstrated time and again that they are engaged in our support of our community, our students and our research through their willingness to stay flexible and find ways to achieve difficult tasks. They have an exceptional culture that allows their team to do whatever it takes to meet the needs of their partners. Nothing speaks more highly of their people and their leadership.”
