The pizzas were stolen after someone ordered an extra-large to a vacant lot.

EVANSTON, IL — A delivery person was robbed after receiving a call to deliver a pizza to a vacant Evanston lot, police said. A caller ordered a single extra large pizza to an address in the 1700 block of Dodge Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Thursday. When the delivery arrived, an attacker described as a 30- to 40-year-old black man with short facial hair and a thin, athletic build wearing a black jacket punched the delivery person in the face and made off with a total of three pizzas valued at $65, according to Evanston Police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan.

The pizza robber was last seen heading westbound through a yard. The block where the incident was reported sits immediately to the north of Evanston Township High School and the Gibbs-Morrison Cultural Center. The delivery person fell to the ground and sustained a cut to the knee but refused medical attention, Dugan said.
