Poets Needed for First Night Evanston

EVANSTON, IL - Organizers of First Night Evanston - the city’s tradition to bring in the New Year - are looking for poets to take part in a Poetry Slam hosted by Marc Smith.

They sent the following note to city email subscribers on Monday:

“You’ll have two chances to bring your own poetry to First Night: you can bring your best to the Poetry Slam and join your friends and neighbors for a poetry free-for-all, or you can submit your best poem to the editors of Rhino, who will judge the entries and award a cash prize for first place and invite the winner to read their poem during Rhino set at First Night.”
