Presence Agency presents...Super Awesome Night Series
"A Night at The Grand Budapest Hotel" at Morgan's on Fulton
CHICAGO, IL - Super Awesome Night, a new series of events created by media and production agency, Presence, has teamed up with Morgan’s on Fulton and Chef David Ochs to create a one night experiential dinner. On Thursday, February 11th from 7 - 10 pm, guests will be transported to The Grand Budapest Hotel, featuring a five-course menu inspired by and set to Wes Anderson’s imaginative film. A new take on “dinner & a movie,” guests will feel like an extension of the screen in a mesmeric environment of whimsical 1930’s Europe.
“We wanted to create an environment where the attendees would be fully immersed from multiple angles; visually, audibly, sensually,” says Mallory Ulaszek-Tews, co-founder of Presence Agency and Super Awesome Night with Kelsey Kreiling. “A dinner that’s more than a dinner, it’s an evening to remember!”
Greeted by champagne, guests will “check in” at the concierge desk of the Grand Budapest Hotel lobby, where they will receive a key (a.k.a. table assignment). As they step into the red elevator, each guest will be taken back in time to the original hotel. Proceeding through the Palm Court and into the dining hall, the first courses will be passed and the movie begins. The five-course fete will be timed to different parts of the movie including bites, like duck and rabbit rillettes, sloppy joes, and the famous Courtesan au Chocolat shown throughout the movie. Wine pairings will be served throughout the dinner.

Presence Agency had been working with Morgan on Fulton’s Sheyna Ochs and knew the venue would be perfect to create something special. Taking it further, they approached Chef David Ochs (Maple and Ash, Girl and the Goat) to create and execute the menu around a movie of his choosing – ultimately David selected The Grand Budapest Hotel.
“It’s such an immersive film…when I watch it I’m transported to the hotel, which really exists in another world,” says Chef David Ochs. “While there are surprises and excitement to the plot, the environments are tidy, quirky and nostalgic of a place I’ve never been. I hoped that the right dishes, served in the right environment, could help to transport diners into the funky, symmetrical, cardboard cut-out universe Wes Anderson nailed in the film.”
