Prince Harry is in a Relationship With Northwestern Alum Meghan Markle

An alum of Northwestern University is in a relationship with Prince Harry and is receiving threats because she is half white and half African-American.

The Kensington Palace Twitter account confirmed the relationship between the prince and Meghan Markle, an actress who graduated from Northwestern’s School of Communications in 2003.

But the statement also confirmed Markle - whose father is Caucasian and whose mother is African-American - has been the recipient of “a wave of abuse and harassment” and “outright sexism and racism” from “social media trolls.”

The statement - according to the Chicago Tribune - pointed to “the smear on the front page of a national newspaper,” presumably referring to the Daily Mail’s description of Markle as being (almost) straight outta Compton.”

The online bullying and threats have spilled over to the point that Prince Harry is worried for Markle’s safety. Several reporters and photographers have illegally tried to enter her residence, according to the statement.
