Pritzker Opens New Evanston Bed and Breakfast

Stone Terrace is the new use for the historic Victorian structure.

EVANSTON, IL - An ownership team that includes transgender North Shore billionaire Jennifer Pritzker recently opened Stone Terrace, Evanston’s newest bed and breakfast.

A ribbon cutting for the new use of the original Queen Anne Victorian mansion at 1622 Forest Place took place in late January. In addition to Pritzker, owners of Stone Terrace include Dawn Overend and Tom and Sue Zipprich.

The building was built in 1883 as a Queen Anne Victorian residence. It then served as a single-family home for more than a century.

According to a news release, Stone Terrace will offer five guest bedrooms, a full spa, sunroom, billiard/game room and two perennial gardens overlooking downtown Evanston.

The property was bought in 2012 by Pritzker. The Zipprich duo will be the innkeepers in its newest use.
