Public Health Manager, Local Doctor Take Coronavirus Questions

EVANSTON, IL — The city is set to host its fifth livestreamed question and answer session about the new coronavirus. Residents can pose questions to a representative of the city's health and human services department and a chair of infectious diseases at a local hospital.

Evanston Public Health Manager Greg Olsen and Dr. Vishnu Chundi, of AMITA Health Saint Francis Hospital, are scheduled to answer queries from the community Friday at noon.

Submit questions in advance online. The session will be broadcast Friday at noon on local cable channel 16 and the city's website and social media channels.

The first two of the question and answer sessions featured Mayor Steve Hagerty and Health and Human Services Director Ike Ogbo.

The third session featured Ogbo and Dr. Lakshmi Halasyamani, chief quality and transformation officer of NorthShore University HealthSystem.

The fourth session featured Evanston Economic Development Manager Paul Zalmezak and Roger Sosa, executive director of the Evanston Chamber of Commerce.

As of Thursday afternoon, there we 97 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Evanston. One resident has died of this virus, according to the city's health department.
