Purple Line Stalled at Central Street in Evanston

The CTA wants rush hour riders to take buses instead due to debris on the tracks in Evanston.

EVANSTON, IL - The CTA Purple Line is stalled at Central Street in Evanston as of 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Debris on the tracks has closed the Chicago-to-Wilmette line of the Chicago Transit Department temporarily.

The CTA is urging evening rush hour riders to instead take the 201 and 205 buses as alternatives.
