EVANSTON -- Random Acts of Flowers Chicago names Michael S. Friman to its Board of Directors, it was announced today by Joanie Bayhack, Executive Director of RAF Chicago. RAF Chicago recycles and repurposes flowers by engaging dedicated volunteers to deliver beautiful bouquets and moments of kindness to individuals in healthcare facilities across Chicago and beyond.

“We are delighted to welcome someone with Michael’s experience, business acumen and skills to our Board,” said Bayhack. “His deep roots in Chicago’s civic, cultural and healthcare community make him an invaluable addition to an already dedicated and talented Board. As the only man on the team, Michael has his work cut out for him,” she joked.

Friman, a partner in the Chicago law firm of McCormick and Friman, LLC, is a commercial real estate and business transactions lawyer. He represents developers, lenders and businesses, locally and throughout the country. As a legal and business advisor, Michael is committed to helping clients find, develop and close deals that further their business objectives; he regularly advises entrepreneurs and closely held businesses on legal matters incidental to their day to day business operations as well as their capital raising and start-up needs. Michael is currently a Board Member on the Presence Health Foundation.

“I look forward to contributing to the growth of this very special nonprofit organization. I have witnessed the positive energy that goes on in this 3,000 square foot floral warehouse and know that thousands of lives are being touched with flowers and simple acts of kindness. Who wouldn’t want to be part of such a meaningful mission?” said Friman. Michael grew up in Arlington Heights where he attended Buffalo Grove High School. He then went on to the University of Illinois College of Commerce and Business Administration where he graduated summa cum laude and received his juris doctorate from the University of Illinois College of Law.

RAF Chicago currently has 500 volunteers, 47 floral partners and delivers repurposed bouquets to

individuals in 130 hospitals, nursing homes, rehab and hospice centers and military medical facilities.

They just delivered their 33,000th bouquet.
